Charlotte Friedman

I am a trained Psychodyamic Psychotherapist.  I trained both at the Institute of Family Therapy and The Tavistock and Portman Trust in NW3.  I have a BSc, and an MA.  I am registered with the British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) and the Tavistock Society.

Individuals

I see individuals for therapy for a wide variety of issues, including depression, childhood trauma and abuse, anxiety, relationship issues and bereavement. Sometimes it is difficult to say exactly what the problem is but things don't feel right.  Psychodynamic Psychotherapy provides an opportunity to talk and begin to understand often confusing and complicated feelings.

Couples

I see couples who are experiencing relationship difficulties at any stage of their relationship, whether deciding to stay together or separate, or improve communication on separation for the sake of any children.

I have written a book called 'Breaking Upwards, how to manage the emotional impact of separation.'

Families

I see families with adult children to work through issues that may have arisen. It is useful to talk as a family with someone from outside the family listening and helping you think about what goes on.
